At Amit Vijay Classes, we provide preparation for SSC, Banking and other competitive examinations, with all major subjects covered under one roof.
But our approach is different.
We believe that before a student starts solving difficult questions, the basic understanding of the subject must be clear.
That is why we give special focus to the basics of Mathematics and English.
Before You Start Maths Preparation, Your Basics Must Be Ready
For competitive-exam Maths, fast calculation alone is not enough.
A student should first be comfortable with a few core skills:
- Calculation — basic operations with reasonable speed and accuracy
- Equation Solving — understanding how to form and solve equations
- Understanding Word Problems — reading a question, understanding what it is asking, and converting the information into an equation or mathematical form
- Basic Mathematical Thinking — understanding what information is given, what is required, and how to connect the two
Especially for Non-Maths Background Students
If you are from a Non-Maths background, just learning fast multiplication or shortcuts will not solve the real problem.
The real need is to understand Maths.
You should be able to read a question, understand its meaning, identify the important information, and convert it into the right mathematical form.
This is the core foundation required before starting serious Maths preparation.
Our 1-Month Separate Basic Maths Programme
We do not put every student directly into a regular Maths batch.
For students from a Non-Maths background or those with weak basics, we first work separately on their basic Maths for one month.
During this period, we focus on:
- Calculation
- Basic Concepts
- Equation Solving
- Word Problems
- Question Understanding
Once the student develops the required basic understanding, we move them to the appropriate regular batch.
Our Belief
We do not believe that doing tough questions first will automatically make easy questions easy.
When a student learns to understand and solve easy questions properly, the student's understanding and confidence gradually improve. With strong basics, tough questions become possible.

We do not want students to simply memorise solutions.
We want them to understand why a question is solved in a particular way and learn to solve new questions on their own.
